Kidnappers are demanding a ransom of N50million for Uche Nwube, a press unit photographer, whom they picked up in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.

According to the PUNCH, Nwube, who works at the Ebonyi State Government House, was kidnapped on Thursday morning.

FIJ gathered that the Ebonyi State Government has not made any public announcement regarding this kidnap, though several other media outlets have reported it.

When FIJ contacted the Ebonyi State Police Command, one Inspector Samuel Bassey said they had not been briefed.

FIJ also contacted the Ebonyi State Government but the line was switched off. A message sent to them had not been responded to at press time.
